In-House Engineering Team | AMC911

The AMC911 In-House Engineering Team…

Our Hidden Advantage

Knowing when to hire a structural engineer can be confusing. Homeowners don’t often need their services, but when they do, their expertise can be critical to decision-making related to a sale, purchase, or home renovation project.

Home renovation projects include:

Adding Loads to a Building

If you want to add tile flooring or an island with granite countertop to your kitchen… Or a whirlpool jacuzzi in your bathroom, it’s best to consult a structural engineer who can confirm the home’s existing skeleton can hold the additional weight. a. Our engineers will review your project to ensure reinforcements are not needed to take on the loads.

Removing Interior Walls

Before you remove an interior wall to open up your living space, it’s best to consult a structural engineer to verify the wall is not load-bearing BEFORE removing it. A structural engineer will let you know if a separate beam and column system will be necessary to hold up the structural members in lieu of the wall you are removing.
