Terra-Lok 24-120
This soil stabilization product creates a polyurethane retainer wall in the soil behind the home, reinforcing the ground without the need for major excavation. Installing Terra-Lok is much less invasive than retaining walls and other traditional methods, so you don’t have to undergo major projects like soil excavation and masonry retaining wall construction.
How It Works
Terra-Lok creates a polyurethane concrete foam wall below the soil’s surface. By injecting polyurethane directly into the soil, Terra-Lok creates a retainer wall with a waterproofing barrier. Terra-Lok is pumped into the ground 6ft under and then layered every foot until the top of the surface, creating a polyurethane curtain that keeps water out like a true retaining wall.
Characteristics of Terra-Lok
Terra-Lok is activated by water. After it is pumped underground, the material begins to expand, binding loose and weak soil particles together. This creates a stable base behind and beneath the hope, helping prevent unstable soil and water intrusion while increasing load-bearing capacity.
Uses
Terra-Lok is mostly used for housing and infrastructure. However, its soil stabilization techniques can be used for many specialized purposes. It has been used to extend the life of marine infrastructure – in Florida, it was recently used to repair a seawall.
Benefits
Benefits of using Terra-Lok include:
- Controlled water migration with a hydrophobic, closed-cell foam barrier
- Increased soil strength by locking loose sand into a solid, cohesive mass
- Minimal disruption to the property and surrounding landscape
- Long-lasting soil stabilization designed to withstand coastal weather and seasonal changes
